Features

Everything you need to walk in prepared

A personal percentile against filing-cited peers, the filing behind every figure, and a plain view of where coverage is thin.

Own-pay entry

Enter your base, bonus (including non-equity incentive), equity grant value and other pay, normalised to Summary Compensation Table conventions so your figures compare like for like with peers. Your entry is private to your account and purged within 90 days of cancellation.

Peer-set builder

Build your peer set by revenue band, sector and region, so the comparison reflects companies that resemble yours.

Percentile position

See where you sit, overall and by component, over three proxy years. A percentile is withheld below 5 distinct employers, because a smaller set is too thin to stand behind.

Filing citations and freshness stamps

Every figure links to its filing and carries a last-updated stamp, so you can open the source and cite it. Every figure is cross-validated before it is shown.

Disclosure-coverage indicator

Smaller reporting companies may omit a CFO under Item 402(m). The tool says where coverage is thin, so you know how much a result rests on.

CFO-to-CEO pay percentage tracker (Executive Pro)

See each peer's CFO pay as a percentage of CEO pay, from the same filing and unflagged rows, with exclusions shown. Your own ratio is placed against peers, with a three-year trend. Your CEO figure is entered per request and not stored.

Form 990 nonprofit CFO positioning (Tracker and above)

Place your package against nonprofit and hospital CFO peers from IRS bulk e-file data, CFO titles only. Each figure is stamped with its lag of about 18 months.

Saved scenarios and CSV / PDF export

Save a scenario and return to it at the next proxy season or trigger event. Export a CSV or PDF for your own records.

Three moments this was built for

  • Dana Whitfield

    Mid-cap CFO (Benchmark)

Before her annual review, Dana enters her own pay, builds a peer set by revenue band and sector, and walks in with figures she can cite to a filing.

  • Marcus Obi

    Hospital-system CFO (Tracker)

Marcus positions his package against nonprofit and hospital CFO peers, sees how public-company CFO peers compare, and reads the last-updated stamp on every figure.

  • Priya Raman

CFO-designate ahead of a succession (Executive Pro)

Priya sets a baseline for equity and sign-on against peer CFO-to-CEO pay percentages and reviews how the ratio moves across three proxy years before the offer conversation.

What it is not

  • It compares disclosed figures only.
  • It does not cover private-company pay.
  • PE-backed CFOs are benchmarked against disclosed public peers as a stand-in, and the product says so on every result and export.
  • It does not estimate undisclosed pay or give tax, legal or negotiation advice.

CFOCompensation compares disclosed figures only. It gives no legal, tax or negotiation advice. Figures are as filed and cited to their source filings. CFOCompensation is not affiliated with the SEC or the IRS. Private-company pay is not covered: only disclosed public-filer (DEF 14A) and IRS Form 990 data is used. PE-backed CFOs are benchmarked against disclosed public peers as a stand-in, and no PE-backed pay data set exists.
